More About Bugibba, Malta The tourist resort of Bugibba is set in a naturally sheltered cove which keeps the sea free from currents even on windy days. People can swim freely all along the rocky coasts. Lately the whole promenade leading from St. Paul's Bay to Bugibba and then to Qawra has been refurbished, giving the resort a new modern look. A small sandy beach and entertainment centre is provided for children of all ages. The resorts offer a wealth of night entertainment. There are numerous discotheques, pubs, clubs, a casino, a cinema and an endless amount of different restaurants offering all types of cuisines. Bugibba is close to the northern sandy beaches which are probably the most popular beaches in Malta. There is a bus terminus in the centre of Bugibba from where one can take direct buses to various popular locations like Sliema, Mosta, Valletta, Mdina, Marsaxlokk, Golden Bay, Cirkewwa and Ghadira. Overlooking the St. Paul's Islands, Bugibba is one of the most popular locations in Summer for both tourists and locals alike. Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa < Verses > Low Cost Self Catering Apartment in Bugibba The most exclusive five-star resort in Malta, the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa is located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the unique Sandy Beach. The average "daily" room rates off-season are around 200 euros rising to over 400 euros in peak season, so luxury really does come at a high price! Low Cost, Clean and Safety Checked Holiday Apartments in Bugibba, Malta The Golden Bay resort is a short drive from St. Paul's Bay and the town of Bugibba, where perfectly acceptable self catering accommodation can be booked for as little as 19 euros per day. It takes 15 minutes by bus to reach Golden Bay from Bugibba with regular buses running throughout the day. YOU CAN MAKE SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS BY CONFIGURING BUDGET FLIGHT DATES WITH DAILY RATE SELF CATERING APARTMENTS The Belmar Bar on Halel St. just off the promenade is dedicated to German cuisine and is run by an eccentric Bavarian called "HERBIE". A very friendly bar, well worth visiting for good beer and an even better Currywurst (Bavarian style)! The GERONIMO Pub and Grill is located just off the main square on St. Anthony Street. This bar is run by a very pretty Russian lady, who is married to the Greek chef... good food, cooked to perfection. My favourite place to dine out is the DA ROSITA RESTAURANT located 3 doors up from the Irish Pub on Halel St. The menu includes dishes from around the world and "Charles" the owner has probably one of the finest wine cellars on the island. Great atmosphere, good service and fantastic food. I recommend you try the "John Wayne" steak, cooked to perfection and smothered in a hot chilli sauce. Diving in Malta Bugibba offers excellent diving facilities for both beginners and experienced open water and cave divers. Natural harbours, bays, sheltered creeks, cliffs, reefs and wrecks, are all within easy reach from Bugibba and they invite you to explore. The possibilities are endless. With dive sites just a stone's throw away from each other, you will be able to explore a variety of underwater worlds. Some of the 34 best known dive sites range from labyrinthine caves to reefs and wartime wrecks can be reached from Bugibba. Rock Climbing in Malta Malta is a very "rocky place". There are plenty of coastline rock scrambles and traverses graded from easy to very difficult. Inland, you will find a wealth of unspoiled, virgin cliffs to climb. At this time, there is no dedicated climbing clubs, so you'll have to plan and bring your own equipment. An experienced climbing instructor could easily make a new business in Malta by combining low cost self catering apartments with a special climbing holiday experience. I'm only surprised that nobody has thought to set this up, as Malta is a climber's paradise.
